2021 Kentucky Advocacy Day Goes Virtual!

Each year, dozens of dedicated American Heart Association You're the Cure advocates from across the Commonwealth gather in Frankfort to advocate for health with their lawmakers. And while face-to-face meetings weren't possible this year, that didn't stop our amazing volunteers from making their voices heard on February 3rd!

More than 240 advocates joined via Zoom for this year's Coalition for a Smoke-Free Tomorrow Virtual Rally. This exciting event kicked off at 9:30 a.m. with an issue overview, video from champions from across the state and advocate briefing, followed at 10 a.m. with a news conference and rally. The afternoon and days that followed saw advocates participating in Zoom meetings with lawmakers to urge their support for local control of the sales and marketing of tobacco products in Kentucky.

Even if you couldn't join us on February 3rd, it's not too late to make your voice heard! Send a message to your lawmakers now!
