8a - 8:30a: Arrival and Introductions
Attendees will engage in introductions and discuss individual expectations for the day. Breakfast will be provided, and materials disseminated.
8:30a - 9:30a: Lobby Day Training
Staff will teach attendees how to successfully lobby their lawmakers and inform them of the intricacies surrounding the legislative process.
9:30a - 10:00a: Review our Policy Agenda
The Government Relations Director will review the state policy agenda for FY 19/20 with the group and will discuss how they can help to achieve the AHA’s goals.
10a - 10:15a: Walk to State Capitol Building
10:15a - 12:15pm: Lobbying Lawmakers
Attendees will pull their lawmakers off the chamber floors and advocate for AHA positions and policies.
12:15 - 12:30pm: Group Picture
The group will gather on the rotunda steps for a picture.
Our 2020 American Heart Association Day at the Capitol will be held at the Georgia State University Student Center East. Below you will find the address, a google map that will help you will directions to the location, and a map of the interior of the building. There will be signs in the student center to guide you to our room.
