Advocacy heads to San Antonio for Vestido Rojo

The advocacy team and volunteers have been busy for Heart Month! We've been at events across the state talking to attendees about our advocacy priorities in San Angelo, Austin and San Antonio. Today, we're shining the spotlight on the San Antonio Vestido Rojo luncheon - an annual event geared toward Hispanic women with free blood pressure screenings, educational breakout sessions and zumba! This year was the biggest yet at nearly 800 attendees!

SA_Vestido_2018.jpgOur amazing advocacy volunteers, Claudia, Freda, Migdalia, Mayra and Amanda spoke with attendees about the heart-healthy policies we're working on in San Antonio and across the state. Attendees filled out a support card if they wanted to send their support to lawmakers and get our regular advocacy updates like this newsletter.
